There is currently no sign in either direction to warn drivers about the upcoming curve in the road or of a need to slow down at that interchange. There seem to be a good number of accidents there. I am not a traffic engineer and I have the utmost respect for their expertise and I respect whatever decision they make. But I do think that the possibility of adding signage on both the North and South bound sides of the road to warn of the curve and a speed reduction to 35mph may be helpful. There have been many times that I have been at that exchange and I have had to avoid collision with on-coming traffic from the opposite direction if I happen to be in the left lane because they fail to maintain their lane, mostly because they are flying around that curve at 55-65mph or more. Thank you for looking into this issue.

  For a request to have new signage installed you will need to contact the Macon-Bibb County Traffic Engineering Department at (478) 464-5700 so they can survey the area. If signs are approved the traffic engineer will notify the Central Services Department to install them. Thanks.
