Local business (Bainbridge Diamonds and Jewelry) is placing very large sandwich signs advertising their business on major intersections throughout the island.
These signs are an eyesore, a distraction to drivers and a hazard to cyclists and pedestrians. They are also in direct violation of city code.

The 122 Bar consistently violates BIMC Ordinance 2007_02 (http://www.ci.bainbridge-isl.wa.us/documents/exec/clerk/ordinances/ord_2007_02_noise_ordinance_approved_061307.pdf) with loud music and loud drunken patrons. Numerous BIPD reports and responses have been made concerning the noise and disturbing behavior. Offences still occur with great regularity.

I'm back from a trip and SEE a new sign posted right in the middle of my very expensive waterfront view. It is directly facing my house. It says NO DUMPING ALLOWED. No one dumps anything there, especially me. Why was this site chosen for this sign? As a direct abutter, I need to have an opportunity to comment on its placement. Please remove it. If not, I expect to see a NO DUMPING ALLOWED sign facing EVERYONE'S home in the middle of EVERYONE'S view on Bainbridge Island. I feel I am being held to a different standard than everyone else. How would you like one facing the front of your home?
Thanks! Thanked!300 High School Road Ne Bainbridge Island, Washington
Small jewelry shop on High School Road has a traffic-blocking sign at the curb in front of the shop..cars exiting from the Island Crossings garage have great difficulty seeing oncoming traffic adequately. ALSO, large loosely-tied banner hangs from the awning of the jewelry shop ...oddly, covering a sign on a large window. Why so much signage for such a small shop ????? No other business on Bainbridge has so much signage.
330 Madison Avenue South
It appears that Bainbridge Thai Cuisine at 330 Madison Avenue South recently installed a new exhaust fan. This fan is markedly louder than the old one. While my wife and I recognize that we live in "urban" Winslow, noise from the exhaust fan is constant - from about 9:00 am to about 10:00 pm. Using a noise meter on our iPhone, we get a consistent reading of 55+ with regular peaks above 60. We live 250+ feet from the exhaust fan. After reviewing the Bainbridge Island Noise Ordinance, we feel that this noise violates the ordinance.
