My friend's foot was gashed really bad yesterday when walking in Westover down Washington Blvd. at Longfellow St. at bus stop #6000559.

When it rains, there are perhaps three sections of sidewalk in front of RiverHouse's James building that quickly get flooded. After it rains, the run-off from the sloped ground leaves behind a lot of mud. These sections of sidewalk essentially are impassable while it is raining, and sometimes for a few days afterwards.
One result is that pedestrians who wish to avoid getting their feet soaked, or shoes muddied, are forced into the street, which in this area is particularly unsafe.
Although the address for the James building is 1111 Army Navy Drive, it actually is located on S. Joyce Street just south of that intersection. The stretch of sidewalk runs toward 1400 S. Joyce Street, where RiverHouse's Potomac building is located.
I understand that the County of Arlington is responsible for maintaining this sidewalk. I'm not sure if RiverHouse might be responsible for the run-off coming from the slope of the ground next to the sidewalk.

Concrete spilled in parking lane on Quaker Ln near 33rd st.
This needs to be jackhammered out. It's unacceptable to leave the pavement like this.

Cars merge from Arlington Blvd and Walter Reed dr. on to Wash. Blvd at the same place There are lots of No-Merge signs, but traffic is too fast there in the morning for persons trying to get on from Walter Reed Dr. after a stop sign. Many accidents. I'd recommend restricting Wash Blvd to one lane after the bridge, and adding a light only for the Arlington blvd merge lane to allow the persons from WW Dr. to get on the highway without risking their lives.

I understand that I choose to live in a state that taxes personal property. I have an issue of paying $33 to pay for a decal to display in my car window. It supposedly is to represent that I paid my taxes and therefore don't ticket me. That is what it used to mean and I wasn't charged for the decal. Now it is issued with the bill so it is meaningless. I can put it on my window but not pay my bill. But now I have to pay for the decal that means nothing - it does not mean I paid. To his credit, when I asked this question of the Treasurer, he responded by phone but did not have an answer of why we are doing this and paying for it. How do get rid of this unnecessary fee (both on the consumer and the cost to produce)?

After construction of houses at Lee and Nottingham, everyone downhill experiences water drainage issues. I have talked to the county construction site department but they can't do anything as these aren't active constructions. But the water flows from these properties and creates an issues for those downhill. I have pictures from the street but there is also flow issues through the yards, causeway ... everywhere.

The merge from S. Walter Reed Drive to Washington Blvd heading towards DC is terrible. I've complained about it before. There's a wreck here probably monthly. I was hit from behind this week by a car that was looking back at oncoming traffic and didn't see I wasn't out of her way yet. Please add a light or something. Traffic from Washington Blvd and Arlington Blvd merge at this same point all doing 50+ MPH and it is a total mess.
