Issues: street signal
221-291 Madison Ave Albany, NY 12202, USA
The traffic light for the pedestrian crosswalk should change on a timer in the middle of the night. Wouldn't it be more efficient to have it change only when someone pushes the button to cross after say, 8:00?
45 Clayton Pl Albany, NY 12209, USA
Children from Myers Middle School cross Hackett here, often dodging speeding cars and inattentive drivers. Move traffic light from Ramsey Place to Clayton Place and install pedestrian control so children can cross Hackett safely.
1101 New Scotland Rd Albany, NY 12208, USA
This traffic light used to be on a sensor. Recently there was some paving done on McCormack Road and since then this light has switched to a timer. I have often had to wait at this intersection at times where there were no other vehicles on the road at all.
31 Robin St Albany, NY 12206, USA
Elk and Sheridan are both one way streets going away from Robin. when the light is red on robin, there is no way for a car to come from either direction unless they are going the wrong way on a one way. There is no need for any traffic device at this intersection, Robin should be able to run continuously and you can turn onto Elk or Sheridan as you wish.
Corner Of New Scotland Ave & W Erie St Albany, NY 12203, USA
now that St Theresa's school & the Church are closed, is it really necessary to have the traffic light on all the time at the corner of New Scotland Ave & W Erie? as long as there is no school in session for New Scotland Elementary, can't we get this light to be a blinking traffic light all the time or only have it working during school day hours?
1420-1422 Washington Ave Albany, NY 12206, USA
The traffic light at this intersection is on a timer instead of traffic sensors, leaving vehicles wasting time, money and fuel unnecessarily, especially at off hours with low traffic flow.
I reported this last fall and they said they were waiting for better weather to repair it. It is almost June, the weather looks fine to me now, when will it be repaired?
117 S Allen St. Albany, NY 12208
I have a question about the intersection of Western Ave., Madison Ave., and Allen St. in Albany.
Cars traveling north on Allen St, attempting to turn left onto Western, and cars traveling south on Allen St., attempting left turns onto Western and Madison sit in the short intersection, unable to turn, and also blocking traffic going straight through the intersection in either direction on Allen St.
When the traffic light changes, allowing east/west traffic, the only way to clear the intersection is for the cars stalled there to proceed against the signal. At times of heavy traffic, this causes a major tie-up.
Is there nothing that can be done to make traffic flow more smoothly through this intersection?
I don't know how many accidents are reported there, but I have witnessed many close calls.
36 Eagle St Albany, NY 12207, USA
More than once, the traffic light at State and eagle turns green to turn right onto Eagle and there's traffic continuing to drive through intersection. The red signal is already 2 1/2 minutes with a short timed green and no turn on red. Stop the traffic on upper State before the light or allow turn on red at this intersection.
1011-1019 Washington Ave Albany, NY 12203, USA
I was at light on Danker ave to head east on washington ave. Light changed green for me. first vehicle ran light. 10 seconds later another vehicle ran light. Probably doing 40 mph. I almost didn't see second vehicle. Which would have caused nasty accident. On return trip at end of day. heading west on washington. noticed tree branches blocking view of right lane traffic light. can this tree be trimed for better view of light.
Intersection Of New Scotland Ave And South Lake Avenue albany , ny
the timing of the traffic light at the intersection of new scotland avenue and south lake avenue needs to be adjusted so the southbound light on new scotland ave turns red before the north bound light. Inevitably what occurs is 3 to 4 cars are in the intersection when the light turns red and those cars approaching New Scotland from South Lake have to wait at a green light while the cars in the intersection travel to their destination whether it be continuing northeast on new scotland or turning left onto South Lake. I suspect that there have been no accidents at this spot but regardless it serves as both an inconvenience and potential accident site because the northbound light does not turn red first.
